Terms of use
Last updated: 5 October 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and CALAROO LTD ("we", "us") for using the Homework for Grown Ups app. CALAROO LTD is a company registered in England and Wales, company number 14950225. Registered office: 167-169 Great Portland Street, Fifth Floor, London W1W 5PF. By creating an account you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
1. What the app is
Homework for Grown Ups sets a few short quiz questions each day and marks them. It's for entertainment and general learning. The questions and explanations are not professional advice (for example legal, financial, medical or tax advice), and you shouldn't rely on them as such.
2. Your account
- You must be 16 or over.
- Give a real email address, keep your password private, and tell us if you think someone else has used your account.
- One account is for one person.
- You can delete your account at any time in the app (Profile, then Delete my account).
3. Free and Plus
The app is free to use with a limited number of questions each day and a limit on the grade you can reach. Plus is an optional subscription that gives you more questions each day and unlocks the higher grades. The current price and what's included are shown in the app before you buy.
4. Subscriptions and payment
- Plus is sold through Apple's App Store and charged to your Apple account.
- If a free trial is offered, you won't be charged until it ends. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the trial, your subscription starts and you're charged the price shown.
- Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each period, at the price shown when you bought it, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends.
- To cancel, open your iPhone's Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions. You keep Plus until the end of the period you've paid for. Deleting the app or your account does not cancel a subscription.
- Payments and refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's terms. To ask for a refund, go to reportaproblem.apple.com.
- We may change the price of Plus. If we do, Apple will tell you in advance and you can cancel before the new price applies.
Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights as a consumer.
5. Using the app fairly
Please don't:
- copy, sell or republish the questions, answers or explanations;
- collect content from the app by automated means, or try to get at the answers other than by doing the homework;
- try to break, overload or get around the security of the app or its servers;
- use the app for anything unlawful.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules.
6. Our content
The app, its questions, explanations, design and name belong to us or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-transferable right to use the app on your own devices for your own, non-commercial use.
7. Mistakes and availability
We work hard to get every answer right, but some questions will contain mistakes. If you spot one, please use Report a problem in the app. We aim to keep the app running every day, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of faults, and we may change or withdraw features. If we withdraw a paid feature, you may be entitled to a refund for the unused part of your subscription.
8. Our responsibility to you
We're responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We're not responsible for loss that wasn't foreseeable, for business losses (the app is for personal use), or for decisions you make based on quiz content. We don't exclude or limit our liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.
9. Ending this agreement
You can stop using the app and delete your account at any time. We may end or suspend your access if you seriously break these terms. We may also stop offering the app; if we do, we'll give reasonable notice where we can.
10. Apple
These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple isn't responsible for the app or its content and has no obligation to provide support for it. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them. You must also follow the App Store's terms when using the app.
11. Privacy
Our privacy policy explains how we use your information.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top, and tell you in the app or by email if the change is significant. If you keep using the app after a change, you accept the new terms.
13. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You can bring a claim in the courts of the part of the UK where you live.
